- Try putting "-maildir=C:\directory_name" (minus the quotes) as a command line
- option for Trumpet.

- Subject: HELP: Posting with WINVN
-
- Is anyone else having problems responding to a previous post? When I
- pick FOLLOWUP ARTICLE under RESPOND and actually write a response
- I usually get an error message saying that I can't post my response
- because my response is smaller than the original message. If I add a whole
- bunch of empty lines to my message to match the length of the original
- message....everything works fine. Is there a solution to this? Can I post
- a smaller response than the original message without adding all these extra
- lines?!!

- He is looking for a telnetD, not a telnet client. There are a
- couple commercial clients that run under Windows -- I don't know
- if they are Winsock compliant, and I seem to have misplaced the
- information, but I picked it off of comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc
- a few months ago.
-
- There is also the freeware WATTCP based telnetD, and also a
- "remote-PC" client that was written Peter Tattam several months
- ago, but never released, since other projects took precedence.
- Both telnetD and remote-PC work rather well and are DOS applications.

- There will be an autoexec.bat and config.sys files (for backward compatiblity),
- but Chicago is also going to have built in TCP/IP, so you might not need the
- winpkt or whatever anymore. Just another reason to go with the MS TCP/IP
- solution over others since this is what will evolve to the final product,
